Honda has become the first carmaker in India to achieve complete E20 compliance across its entire range, including the City, Amaze, and Elevate. With the government’s E20 fuel mandate for all gasoline-powered vehicles, including hybrids set to take effect on April 1, 2025, Honda has already ensured its lineup is fully prepared, setting a benchmark for other automakers in the country. The Japanese carmaker has confirmed that all of its vehicles produced in India since January 1, 2009, are E20 material compatible. This ensures that existing customers can use E20 petrol with confidence, without worrying about durability or needing to replace any components.

Speaking on the latest achievement, Mr. Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, ‘At Honda Cars India, we are committed to driving sustainable mobility solutions and all our cars have been E20 material compatible since Jan 2009 enabling our customers to seamlessly adopt the greener E20 fuel without any modifications. The latest compliance certification for all our current models ahead of the pan India E20 fuel introduction aligns with the Government of India’s goal to implement greener fuels. As India moves towards a cleaner and more sustainable future, HCIL will continue to remain at the forefront.’

E20 fuel, a mix of 20% ethanol and 80% petrol, provides several environmental benefits, including cleaner combustion and a significant reduction in harmful emissions. It helps improve air quality by lowering carbon emissions and reducing dependency on fossil fuels. Additionally, E20 fuel supports sustainable agriculture by using locally sourced ethanol, contributing to a greener, more eco-friendly future.
