The Afeela 1 EV, a product of collaboration between Sony Group Corporation and Honda Motor Company, has made its production-ready form at CES 2025. With a starting price of USD 89,900, (around Rs 77 lakh), the electric vehicle is now available for reservations in California at a token amount of USD 200 (approximately Rs 17,169). The Afeela 1 EV will enter production in Ohio, and go on sale initially in California. The deliveries are slated to begin in the middle of next year.
The Afeela 1 EV has two variants — Origin and Signature, and the latter is priced at USD 102,900 (approximately Rs 88 lakh). This top-of-the-line model adds premium features, including the innovative C-CMS (Center Camera Monitoring System), 21-inch wheels, and a rear entertainment system. Additionally, customers who purchase the Afeela 1 will receive a 3-year complimentary subscription.

The Afeela 1 EV exudes a stylish, and futuristic vibe with advanced design elements, including the absence of physical door handles—a trend that’s increasingly popular in the modern EV world. To unlock the car, users can simply use the Afeela app on their phones or tap the phone against the door for seamless access. Inside, the cabin offers a premium yet sustainable atmosphere, featuring plant-derived and recycled materials across approximately 70% of the interior surface area. Additionally, the Afeela 1 is equipped with a 3D Motion Management System that integrates motor, brake, and suspension controls, ensuring an optimised and smooth ride for ultimate comfort.

One of the standout features inside the Afeela 1 is its full panoramic touchscreen display, which stretches across the entire dashboard. Ambient lighting along the door trims and OLED screens mounted on the back of each seat further elevate the cabin's high-tech ambiance. For entertainment, the Afeela 1 comes equipped with a PlayStation 5 controller, an optimised sound system, and seat-mounted displays. The EV also features the Afeela Personal Agent, an interactive system that lets users control in-car functions with natural voice commands.
The Afeela 1 boasts a 91kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 483 kilometres on a single charge. It features a dual-motor setup with a combined output of 480bhp and supports 150kW charging. Sony Honda Mobility also ensures compatibility with Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network.

The Afeela 1 comes with a full array of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), driven by 40 sensors and an ECU with up to 800 Tops of computational capacity. SHM’s Afeela Intelligent Drive technology handles full-route planning, from departure to parking. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis and featuring generative AI, the Afeela 1 offers a smarter, more intuitive driving experience.
