Hennessey Special Vehicles, a Texas-based hypercar company, has introduced the Venom F5-M Roadster, claimed to be the world's most powerful manual production car ever. A 'Fury V8' engine, which produces 1,817bhp, drives the model. However, unlike the standard Venom F5, which has a seven-speed automatic manual gearbox, the F5-M features a six-speed manual.
Commenting on the occasion, John Hennessey, founder, and CEO, said, 'Driving the Venom F5 is already a full body experience that thrills, inspires, and never gets old … but, we never say that’s enough, we never stand still. That’s why we’ve dived deeper into the sensation of driving, finding every touchpoint to deliver connection, feedback, sound, and engagement. We believe that the Venom F5-M Roadster will be the most intense, immersive, and extreme driving experience on the planet and a dozen lucky customers get to join us for the ride!'

Hennessey Venom F5-M Roadster: Exterior and Interior Updates
Some outward changes are also evident, such as the addition of a 55-inch fin to the car's spine, which enhances stability when travelling at high speeds. (An additional thoughtful touch, given that shifting requires taking your hand off the steering wheel).
In addition to the revised pedal box and carbon fibre/aluminum shifter, the cockpit has a wider console with a pair of horizontally positioned circular air vents replacing the formerly vertically stacked ones. Furthermore, the Hennessey yoke-style steering wheel, which has plenty of buttons without a top section to avoid obstructing the view of the rectangular digital gauge pack, is retained.
Hennessey Venom F5-M Roadster: Powertrain
As mentioned, the 6.6-litre "Fury" V-8 twin-turbocharged engine developed in-house by Hennessey powers the Venom F5-M Roadster. The new M-spec hypercar has a six-speed manual gearbox, unlike the previous iteration of this vehicle. This hypercar offers a very traditional behind-the-wheel experience, despite its cutting-edge design and exceptional performance potential. John Hennessey described this new model as 'a true manual', as it has a clutch coupled to the gearbox by cable rather than managed or regulated by a computerised interface.
The current iteration of the USA-built hypercar produces 1,817bhp of maximum power, the same as the manual Venom F5's Fury V-8. With a top speed of 500.5km/h and a 0 to 100km/h sprint time that is presumably a bit slower than the automatic model's 3.3 seconds, its performance capabilities are therefore most likely fairly close to the current variants. The Venom F5-M Roadster, with its 1,800bhp, is also the most potent production automobile with a manual gearbox in the world.
