British luxury car maker Rolls-Royce has brought ‘Serenity’ to the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland, a one-of-a-kind Phantom crafted by its Bespoke Design department.

Serenity takes inspiration from founder Sir Henry Royce’s maxim, ‘’Take the best that exists and make it better’, to offer ‘a completely new level of individualised luxury".

There are some significant changes on the interior of the car, particularly to the rear section, as Cherica Haye explains, “The rear compartment of a Phantom is the most tranquil, beautiful place to be, a place where time and the outside world simply slip past. This tranquillity made us think of the Oriental tradition where Emperors would take to their private gardens to reflect in solitude under the blossom trees. The blossom motif is one that is cherished in Far Eastern culture and has been beautifully applied to Royal robe design over the centuries. We felt it was the perfect representation of tranquillity and serenity for a beautiful modern interior from Rolls-Royce.”

The silk used in the cabin is sourced from Suzhou, China before being hand-dyed by Chinese craftspeople who have been indulged in this task for decades. Later on, it is sent to the UK to be hand-woven into fabric. The final touch was provided by detailed petal by petal hand-painting of crimson blossoms directly onto the silk.

The luggage area has been covered in Arctic White leather with two parasols featuring the Serenity motif and leather loops.
