With more aggressive aerodynamics and a substantial power bump, Genesis has debuted a racing version of the stunning X Gran Berlinetta Concept. The new X Gran Racer Vision GT Concept, which is the fourth Genesis created for the Gran Turismo video game series, was unveiled at the Busan International Mobility Show in 2024. This implies that your only opportunity to drive it will be through the Gran Turismo video game on your PlayStation 5. Even with its larger aerodynamic parts and racing wheels, the X Gran Racer nevertheless has the X Gran Berlinetta's streamlined proportions and sculpted bodywork. The new concept was developed only as a design study, just like the X Gran Berlinetta. However, these hypercar concepts are anticipated to have an impact on the styling of upcoming Genesis vehicles. Read on to learn more.

Design-wise, the front now features carbon fibre canards and a more pronounced splitter. Furthermore, there are vents in the fenders, and the side skirts have been altered to make room for a much bigger diffuser at the back. This configuration is completed with a huge rear wing that incorporates LEDs and a centre fin, giving it a Le Mans-ready appearance. The high-performance Genesis models' signature paint job, Magma, contrasts sharply with the exposed carbon fibre components. A fresh set of centre-lock wheels covered in Michelin slicks and featuring aero discs up front round off the design.

Genesis X Gran Racer Vision GT Concept: Technical Details

The electrified V6 engine of the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta produces a combined 1,056bhp of power and 1,337Nm of torque, offering hypercar-level acceleration. The hybrid powertrain of the Genesis X Gran Racer Vision GT, on the other hand, puts out an even more impressive 1,519bhp of maximum power and 1,427Nm of peak torque.

A modified electric motor, which produced 661bhp instead of the prior concept's 198bhp, enabled the power boost. With the help of an electronic supercharger, the mid-mounted Lambda II V6 engine sustains its output of 858bhp.

A motorsports-inspired modification has been made to the cabin as well. Alcantara covers the majority of the surfaces, with carbon fibre accents and reworked switchgear to complete the look. A redesigned yoke steering wheel with integrated dials and buttons was installed by Genesis, giving the driver easy access to chassis configuration adjustments.

The dashboard still houses the Digital Panorama Interface, but a slim centre console with more switches is an addition to the layout. Lastly, stronger cross beams in the doors, a roll bar under the headrests, and an integrated roll cage all improve safety on the track.
