There is a lot of speculation on the internet about Ford's potential return to India. The automaker's recent recruitment advertisements targeted at the Indian market, as well as the cancellation of a proposal to sell the Chennai factory, have both contributed to the rumours surrounding this matter. To add to this, Ford has now filed a design patent application for a new compact SUV in India, increasing curiosity among Indian fans. Although there are no official reports, the mid-size SUV is meant to be created specifically for the Indian market and compete with well-known vehicles like the Hyundai Creta, the Kia Seltos, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. For the unaware, in September 2021 the American firm ceased sales and manufacturing operations in India due to low sales. However, with some new and improved products in its lineup, the automaker is expected to re-enter our market. Let's take a look at the recently patented design details of the SUV.
New Ford Compact SUV: Design
The anticipated outward features of the compact model include a muscular bonnet, a broad hexagonal grille with three-piece LED lights, flared wheel arches, and hefty cladding on the side. Although there aren't any interior photos yet, the new Ford car is expected to resemble its foreign counterparts and be loaded with features like a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, a huge infotainment system, and a sunroof. Although it isn't seen in this drawing, we are confident that Ford will include a sunroof in the final product. The upcoming SUV’s mechanical details are still unclear, but with the automaker's confirmation, precise specs may become public soon.
More Products On The Way
In January, the American manufacturer also filed a patent for the brand-new Endeavour in India. According to reports, the SUV will cost more because it will enter our country via the CBU method. The new Ford Endeavour will compete with vehicles like the Toyota Fortuner and the MG Gloster when it is released. Additionally, Ford intends to launch the Mach-E electric crossover in our market, which was patented earlier this month. Globally, the Ford Mustang Mach-E is available with 72kWh and 91kWh battery packs, as well as rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive setups.
