Ford India has recalled total of 1, 66,021 units of the Figo hatchback and the Classic sedan to check a potential issue with the rear twist beam and the power assisting steering hose.

The American company had already recalled the EcoSport less than 3 months back and now this second major recall looks like a big set back for the company. Ford is currently inspecting the rear axle of 1, 31,922 cars for possible defect that may result in unstable ride, handling and braking.

The power steering hose of 34,099 cars will be replaced where 30,681 units are Ford Figos and the rest Classic sedans. This recall will impact vehicles that were manufactured between January 2010 and June 2012.

Ford said it is contacting owners of the potentially affected vehicles through notification letters. No injuries or accidents have been reported but these are just preventive measures says the company. The American car manufacturer stated that, “The recall is to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our customers by inspecting and replacing any potentially affected parts as required.”
