Last month Ford unveiled the highly anticipated compact sedan, the Figo Aspire, at their new production facility in Sanand, on the outskirts of Ahmadabad. As much as they flaunted the Aspire's exteriors, they kept the interiors under wraps. Now the American car manufacturer has finally revealed what the cabin will look like.

The design inside is similar to both the Fiesta and EcoSport. The centre console that houses the infotainment system has a unique butterfly design housing all the buttons. Though the screen is bigger than the EcoSport, it still uses the same blue fonts. The Aspire gets a new smart looking climate control with chrome finish dials. It also gets a similar steering wheel as its big brother, the Fiesta. Going by the feedback the Fiesta's steering wheel provides, we could expect something similar from the Aspire as well.

It is nice to see that Ford has paid attention to details as the front doors comes with three cup or bottle holders. What is slightly disappointing is that rear doesn't comes with any cubby holes in the doors. The two-tone cabin looks spacious and appears to be solid in build quality. The fit-and-finish also seems to be up to the mark, but we will have to see it in reality to confirm this.

The top-of-the-line Aspire will come loaded with features like Ford's voice activated system SYNC and AppLink, which lets you access apps on your paired smartphone by simply using your voice. It also comes with electrically folding mirrors, ABS, EBD, Electronic Stability Programme, Hill Launch Assist and six airbags.

The Aspire comes with a unique feature called MyFord Dock, which is right above the infotainment system. This docking station let's you charge your phone or any other device like MP3 player or GPS device. The device in the docking station gets connected to the music system.

Ford will introduce MyKey technology, which lets you programme your key to a restricted driving mode by limiting the speed of the car and set music system's audio level. MyKey also displays a message on the screen to buckle up. This technology is the first of its kind in this segment in India.

The seats look wide, big and accommodating and should provide decent thigh and back support. Keeping rear passengers comfort in mind, the back seats come with adjustable headrests. The rear seats also come with a centre arm rest.

The Aspire will come in two engine options -- 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol and 1.5-litre TDCi diesel and both will be mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. Ford will also introduce 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, but no details have been revealed whether it will be available with the petrol or diesel engine. This is will the first automatic car in this segment.

The Figo Aspire has a lot of things going for itself, but to replicate the Figo's success, Ford will have to price it aggressively.
