Ford India has slashed the prices of the Figo hatchback and the Figo Aspire compact sedan to encourage sales of the cars.
Ford India has cut the prices of the Figo and the Aspire to make their vehicles more attractive to buyers in India and to spruce up the sales of the vehicles.
Base variants of both, the Figo and the Aspire have not been affected. However, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+ trims have seen price cuts ranging from Rs. 25,000 up to Rs. 91,000.
The Figo hatchback top ‘Titanium+’ trim’s price has been slashed by Rs. 30,000 for the petrol version, while the diesel engine version has had Rs. 50,000 knocked off its previous asking price. The top trim Figo petrol is now priced at Rs. 6,28,700 while the diesel Figo now costs Rs. 7,17,750 (ex-showroom Delhi). No other variant of the FIgo hatchback has reportedly received a price cut.
The Figo Aspire, sub-4 metre sedan has gotten Rs. 25,000 – Rs. 91,000 cheaper. The Trend trim is priced at Rs. 5,76,150 for the petrol model, and Rs. 6,85,850. The Titanium+ trim level petrol car is now priced at Rs. 6,80,150 while the 1.5-litre diesel is now priced at Rs. 7,89,850. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi and have been implemented by the manufacturer with immediate effect.
Ford had also slashed the price of the EcoSport compact SUV in March 2016, soon after the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Ford cut the price of the EcoSport upto Rs. 1.2 lakh for the car after the Vitara Brezza was launched just under Rs. 7 lakh. Ford's price cut announcement has come at a time when Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai have hiked the price of their respective vehicles, the Swift Dzire and the Xcent.
