Ford has introduced their latest version of their infotainment interface, SYNC 3 in India with the Endeavour SUV.
Ford SYNC 3 is a much faster touchscreen interface which comes loaded with features such as conversational voice recognition, high resolution graphic with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with Siri Eyes-Free, AppLink and software updates via Wi-Fi. Currently, the Ford Endeavour will be equipped with SYNC 3 technology in only the Titanium variants with both engine options, in the initial launch phase of the technology in India.
The new infotainment system in the Endeavour is an 8-inch screen with SYNC 3 interface and features a potentially lifesaving Emergency Assistance feature which automatically calls emergency services from a paired phone in the event of an accident, when the airbags are deployed.
The system’s voice-activated technology allows easy commands for selecting music, making calls and using the searching for destinations in satellite navigation system. The touchscreen technology includes tap, pinch-to-zoom and swipe gesture inputs with a quicker touch and voice response due to an enhanced processor.
The Ford Endeavour in India is powered by 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder and a 3.2-litre, 5-cylinder TDCi engines from the ‘Duratorq’ family. Both engines get the options of a 6-speed automatic and manual transmissions.
The SUV also gets a clever four-wheel drive system with an active transfer case with Torque on demand, Terrain Management System and a water wading capacity of 800mm with a ground clearance of 225mm. The Endeavour also comes equipped with Semi Auto Parallel Park Assist which helps locate the right sized parking spot and steers the SUV into the spot.
