A production-ready pickup version of the Force Gurkha has been spotted in Pune, India. The spotted model was without any camouflage and, therefore, gave us a look at its design. In India, the Force Gurkha SUV in a five-door avatar is soon to make its entry. After the launch, it will compete with the forthcoming 5-door versions of the Thar and Maruti Suzuki Jimny in the country. However, ahead of its market introduction, a pickup version of the model has caught market attention because its spy images have surfaced on the internet. The 5-door pickup variant seems to be based on the soon-to-be-launched SUV counterpart. In terms of appearance, the loading bed, two extra doors, and standard Gurkha design give it a longer profile from the sides. However, it gets new alloy wheels. Let's dive into more details of this pickup, which could be launched in our market later this year, alongside the 5-door SUV version.

Force Gurkha Pickup: Design
The pickup truck, according to the spy shots, appears to be based on the forthcoming 5-door Gurkha SUV. It has the same five split-spoke alloy wheels. However, the change can be seen behind the rear doors, where there is a flatbed in place of a cabin to make it a pickup truck. The rear end of the truck has a sturdy design and square wheel arches. The spare wheel is presumably under the bed rather than on the tailboard. Because it is based on the Gurkha, it has a side-hinged tailboard instead of a drop-down cover like most pickups.
Force Gurkha Pickup: Powertrain
Speaking of the engine, the pickup will likely follow the specifics of the 3-door Gurkha, which has a 2.6-litre diesel unit, capable of producing 90bhp and 250Nm. For transmission, it gets a 5-speed manual gearbox, and it comes standard with a 4x4.

Force Gurkha Pickup: Features & Price
While there is no official information, its feature list, just like some of its specifications, is also expected to be similar to that of the three-door SUV. It might get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a four-speaker sound system, dual front airbags, manual air conditioning, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. As mentioned earlier, there is no update on the launch of the pickup yet, but according to market speculations, it could be introduced in India later this year. Price-wise, it will likely cost more than the existing Gurkha, which retails at Rs 15.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
