Force Motors has launched the much-awaited Gurkha SUV in India. The SUV comes in two different body styles: 3-door and 5-door. The former is available at Rs 16.75 lakh, whereas the latter sets you back by Rs 18 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. As expected, the Gurkha 5-door commands a premium of Rs 1 lakh+ over its 3-door sibling. The bookings for both versions are open for a token amount of Rs 25,000, while the deliveries for the same will commence in the coming days.
In terms of design, the brand-new Force Gurkha 5-door closely resembles its updated 3-door counterpart. Both models get a new grille with Gurkha lettering, circular LED headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs), fender-mounted turn indicators, fog lights with cornering function, and a snorkel. Along the sides, the 5-door retains the boxy silhouette and body lines of the Gurkha 3-door but has a 425mm longer wheelbase and two additional rear doors. Besides, there are blacked-out door handles, chunky wheel arches, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, as well as vertically stacked LED taillamps, a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, and a roof rack at the rear. Both versions can be had in four exterior colours – Red, Green, White, and Black.
