Fiat will bring the Abarth 595 to our shores at a launch ceremony on August 4, it has been announced. The hot hatch will take on the Mini Cooper S, which was launched in the Indian market earlier this year.

The Fiat Abarth 595 is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine that delivers 160 PS of power and 210 Nm of torque. The petrol engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission system and offers two modes, namely, Normal and Sport.

Fiat’s latest offering will make an instant impression by its looks, with Abarth decals, 17 inch alloy wheels, Pirelli P Zero tyres, sunroof and dual exhaust all coming as standard. Safety features include airbags, electronic slip differential, anti-Lock Braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, torque transfer control, among others.

The Fiat Abarth 595 will be imported in India through the CBU route, with its price likely going to be a deciding factor in determining its sales figure.
