The new Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo's highlights include a retro-futuristic look and a driver-focused single-seat interior.
Ferrari has revealed the Vision Gran Turismo – a concept car for the Gran Turismo videogame series. Beginning December 15, its full-size model will be on display in Maranello, Italy. The car is particularly designed for the world of virtual motorsport, and its debut coincides with the 75th anniversary of the firm's maiden racing car – the 125 S.
The Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo features a prominent front splitter, a huge air vent, sleek headlamps, a sloping roofline, and a hood with vents. On the sides, it gets vented wheel arches, channels that direct airflow around the cockpit, and stylish dual-tone wheels. At the back, it gets a diffuser, a large wing, and a full-width taillamp. Inside, there is a single seat. The driver-focused cabin includes interior lighting, a red bucket seat, a minimalist dashboard, and a steering wheel with a digital instrument cluster in the middle.
The brand-new Vision Gran Turismo is propelled by a powertrain that is not bound to any regulations – a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, which produces 1,016bhp of maximum power and 900Nm of peak torque and is coupled to three electric motors that generate 321.5bhp and 1,100Nm of torque. An 8-speed DCT gearbox handles the transmission functions. Moreover, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in less than two seconds and from 0 to 200km/h in less than five seconds. Plus, it can attain a top speed of more than 350km/h.
According to the carmaker, the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo is all set to be introduced in Gran Turismo 7 on December 23. But before that, a full-size model of the racecar will be showcased in Maranello from December 15 onwards and will remain on display there until March 2023.
