The Italian manufacturer of super cars has just revealed the specification and images of its most affordable car called the California T. The new California has undergone some significant changes, and the biggest change is the addition of a turbo charged engine, hence the 'T' moniker. The car has been redesigned by the Ferrari Styling Centre in collaboration with Pininfarina to give it its own personality. The car is compact and muscular, and has been designed with the latest aerodynamic research to give it its distinct racing character. The retractable hard top will transform the car from coupe to spider in just 14 seconds. The interiors have also been setup to be as ergonomic as possible while providing a sense of craftsmanship and luxury, while the new Turbo Performance Engineer display with touchscreen allows the driver to view information on engine performance.

Speaking of engine performance, the California T will now come stocked with a 3855cc turbo 8-cylinder engine that is mounted very low in the chassis in a mid-front position and will deliver 552bhp at 7500rpm. The engine will also provide plenty of torque, which is rated at 755Nm. According to Ferrari, their engineers at Maranello have created an engine with virtually zero turbo lag, so the driver will experience instantaneous response to commands. The engine will also be mated to an improved 7-speed dual clutch gear box and will allow the California T to race from 0-100km/h in just 3.6 seconds.

Thanks to the turbo, the new California T compared to the outgoing model will also reduce fuel consumption by around 15 percent, and it will also reduce CO2 emissions by 20 percent.

The California T has also gotten a new steering box and a better tuned suspension setup, and this will allow for improved steering response and handling. Then there is the new F1-Trac traction control system, which will provide fantastic grip and allow the car to accelerate faster out of corners.

The new California T is scheduled to be unveield to the world this month at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
