We finally have an unveil date for Ferrari’s first SUV.
Porsche started it with the Cayenne; Lamborghini followed with the Urus and Aston Martin with the DBX. And now, it's Ferrari’s turn to unveil its first SUV – the Purosangue. Yes, you read that right, Ferrari is making a performance SUV. We’ve already seen spy shots and heard rumours. But now the launch date has been confirmed, so here’s everything we know about the Purosangue.
First, let us tell you some confirmed bits. Thanks to a teaser posted on Instagram with the Purosangue’s exhaust note, we know for sure that it will be powered by a V12 unit. That said, you can also expect the Purosangue to get the twin-turbo V8 from the F8 Tributo and the hybrid-V6 powertrain from the 296 GTB. Either they will follow at a later date or there will an announcement regarding them at the launch.
In terms of design, the leaked images seen here show you pretty much all angles of the Purosangue. It does look different, but still very Ferrari. Whether it looks pretty or not is for you to decide. We suggest reserving your opinion until the official images arrive on September 13 though.
Aside from this, we know that Ferrari isn’t looking to make the Purosangue a ‘mass market’ SUV. Yes, the price will be the first deterrent for compact SUV buyers looking for an upgrade, and then build slots for the SUV will also be on the conservative side of things. Ferrari isn’t going to toss up its exclusivity in exchange for extra dough, or so they say.
Stay tuned to our social media handles for all the updates on the Purosangue as it's unveiled on September 13!
