Ferrari's upcoming models, such as the 12Cilindri and the Purosangue SUV, will not include a built-in satellite navigation system. According to an industry report, the Italian manufacturer intends to remove this feature from future vehicles and the complete lineup because it thinks that smartphone navigation with apps like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is more modern, practical, and preferable, compared to built-in navigation. Emanuele Carando, Ferrari's head of product marketing, asserts that Ferrari drivers rarely use their cars for regular commutes, so forcing them to master a navigation system they may never use is irrelevant.

For a long time, in-car navigation systems have been considered a luxury, but as technology advanced, smartphone navigation surpassed these in-built devices with user-friendly and convenient features. Hence, Ferrari's action seems to be in line with the rising preference of modern customers for smartphone navigation.
