Chevrolet updates the beat with more features, a few cosmetic enhancements and two new paint shades

Chevrolet has launched the second face-lift for the Beat that was first introduced in India in the year 2010. Updates for the compact car include a new top-end LTZ variant that packs in more features, minor cosmetic enhancements and two new paint options.

Among new features in the updated Chevrolet Beat are remote central locking with flip key, steering mounted audio controls on select models and dual front airbags in the LTZ trim while the LT trim gets a driver airbag. Anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution is also standard on the LTZ model. Cosmetic enhancements include body coloured door handles, new tail lamp plastic cover with different surfaces for combination lamps, new rear spoiler with LED stop lamps, dual reflectors on the rear bumper and silver interior highlights on lower section cabin trim.

The new exterior paint shades are ‘Pull Me Over Red’ and Satin Steel Grey. The face-lifted Beat like earlier also is also available in five other shades, namely, Cocktail Green, Sandrift Grey, Switch Blade Silver, Summit White, Linen Beige and Caviar Black.

The rest of the car remains the same as the outgoing version with a choice of a 1.2 litre four cylinder, petrol engine and a 936cc, four cylinder diesel engine. With the update though, fuel efficiency of the petrol engine has dropped from an ARAI claimed 18.6 km/l to 17.8 km/l. at 25.44 km/l as per ARAI, the claimed fuel efficiency of the diesel model remains unchanged.

“The Chevrolet Beat, one of GM India’s best-selling models, raises the bar in the country’s fast-growing compact car segment. The refreshed features complement the already distinguished styling elements in its segment, providing even more value to our customers,” said Hardeep Brar, Vice President – Sales, General Motors India.

“We are confident that the 2016 Beat with new features and appealing design enhancements will further strengthen our position in the market place. The new version was developed by carefully listening to our customers and enhancing it with smart new features and stylish looks”, added Brar.
