The legendary British car maker, Jaguar-Land Rover has announced that they will begin local assembly of the Range Rover Evoque in India at their Pune plant. This will be the fourth vehicle that will be locally assembled, along with the Freelander 2, Jaguar XF and XJ.

The five-door SUV is offered in three trims — Pure, Prestige and Dynamic — and each variant features a 2.2-litre common-rail turbo-diesel engine mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The local assembly of the car will bring prices down siginificantly.

Currently, the Evoque has a starting price of Rs. 59.5 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai), but the 2015 Range Rover Evoque prices will be as follows:

Range Rover Evoque SD4 5 Door Pure: Rs 48.73 lakh
Range Rover Evoque SD4 5 Door Dynamic: Rs 52.40 Lakh
Range Rover Evoque SD4, 5 Door Prestige: Rs 56.21 lakh

The locally-manufactured Range Rover Evoque is now available for sale with deliveries expected to begin from early April 2015
