Aston Martin, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, had made their intentions clear about seeking a partner to develop high-end engines for their sports car line-up. The British car maker was holding discussions with many manufacturers and was to reach an agreement soon.

Now the word is out that Daimler, the German car manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz cars, is in ‘early stage’ talks with Aston Martin about supplying components and also providing technical assistance.

Discussions also involve Aston Martin owners Investindustrial Advisers SpA and Investment Dar Co. We will soon hear if Aston Martin closes the deal but it does make sense to buy base engines from Mercedes and adapting them into the British car company’s sports car. We will keep you posted about this development as and when it happens. Stay tuned!
