Introduced early this year, the deliveries of the Volvo S60 sedan in India are all set to commence.
2021 Volvo S60 sedan was launched in India earlier this year at an introductory price of Rs 45.90 lakh (ex-showroom). And the Swedish carmaker is all set to commence deliveries of the Volvo S60 sedan from March 18.
The Volvo S60 is offered in just one top-of-the-line T4 Inscription variant, which offers creature comforts, such as a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The multimedia unit is synced with the Harman Kardon stereo system to offer a premium experience. The cabin also gets a four-zone climate control. Being a Volvo, the S60 comes kitted out with a suite of safety features.
The engine on offer is the 2.0-litre petrol unit – the same as the one in XC40 but in a different state of tune. The petrol engine in the S60 puts out 188bhp and 300Nm of torque and comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The Volvo S60 is offered with only a petrol powertrain, whereas the BMW 3 Series (positioned in the same segment) gets an option of a diesel to choose from. The Audi A4, which rivals the Volvo S60, misses out on a diesel drivetrain. The 3 Series and the A4 undercut the S60 in terms of pricing – however, it's worth a mention that both German rivals' respective top-of-the-line trims are pricier than that of the S60. This makes the Volvo S60 sedan the most affordable highest trim level car in its segment, even though it has been introduced in the market via CBU (Completely Built-up Unit). The Volvo S60 is also positioned in the segment alongside the Jaguar XE and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class in India.
