Datsun to launch its entry-level hatchback on the 7th of June with prices starting at approximately Rs. 2.40 lakh.
Datsun India has finally announced that the company will be launching the much awaited redi-Go A-segment hatchback on the 7th of June. The entry-level hatchback is at its best ever with newer and contemporary offering being introduced to offer buyers a wider choice. The redi-Go is based on the same platform as the brilliant Renault Kwid and is every bit as promising.
We have driven the upcoming Datsun redi-GO ahead of its launch and you can check out our review of the car here --> Datsun RediGO Review: First Drive
The Datsun redi-Go has a tall profile to make the cabin of the car more airy and offer good head room for tall occupants. But that in no way means that the car looks ungainly for its compact size as Datsun has done a commendable job of styling the car with a well tapered bonnet, nice large front grille with chrome surrounds, large up market looking head lamps and DRLs incorporated into the front bumper. A nice kink in the lower section of the side profile lends a nice touch. While around the back a tall bumper with reflectors and vertically placed tail lamps give the redi-GO an unmistakable rear profile.
The interiors of the car also feel fairly contemporary with beige plastics and decent build quality. The car is certainly more spacious than some of its rivals and will give the mighty Alto 800 a run for its money considering that Datsun will be launching the car with the prices slightly undercutting those of its arch rival by a few thousand rupees. Expect prices for the Datsun redi-GO to begin at around Rs. 2.40 lakh while prices for the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 start at Rs. 2.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The top-end variant of the redi-Go will be priced at approximately Rs. 3.5 lakh.
