Defence personnel can now buy the Datsun redi-GO and GO+ models through CSD along with some additional benefits.
Datsun has commenced selling the redi-GO hatchback and GO+ MPV via Canteen Stores Department (CSD) in India. Through CSD, the company will be selling these two models to the armed forces and ex-servicemen across the country.
As part of the initiative, Datsun has also announced of introducing some special offers to Defence employees. This will include all CSD customers receiving benefits such as priority delivery, VAT exemption benefits, exclusive offers and access to all ongoing consumer offers.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said, “It’s always been our endeavor to enhance the overall brand experience for our customers. Extending the Datsun redi-GO and Datsun GO+ under CSD along with our other existing Nissan and Datsun models, is another step to provide one more reason for our customers to take home their favorite vehicle topped with exclusive offers.”
While the Datsun GO+ has been on the market for a while, it’s the recently launched redi-GO that will be of more interest to consumers (CSD or otherwise). Based on the same platform as the Renault Kwid, the Datsun redi-GO is priced between Rs 2.39 lakh and Rs 3.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The redi-GO is powered by a 0.8-litre, three-cylinder, petrol engine that develops 52.2bhp @ 5,678rpm and a peak-torque of 72Nm @ 4,386rpm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, and returns an ARAI-certified fuel economy of 25.17km/l.
