While the news of Datsun’s return to India came to us last year, at a recent event held in New Delhi the Japanese carmaker officially launched the Go hatchback. The Go was on display at the Delhi Auto Expo and now it is available for booking at a starting price of just Rs 3.12 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.

The Datsun Go hatch will be available in three different variants and will be retailed through parent company Nissan’s dealership network across India. If the affordable price tag isn’t enough to persuade a buyer, Datsun will also be offering a two year unlimited mileage manufacturer warranty. Datsun has said that the Go hatchback will be primarily aimed towards ‘aspirational, rising Indian families’. The highest variant of the Datsun will come with power steering, front power windows, a mobile docking station, a universal mobile holder, an Aux-in and USB charger, and central locking. The Datsun Go is powered by a 1.2 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 67bhp and 104Nm of torque.

Mr. Kenichiro Yomura, President – Nissan India Operations, said, “We are very excited to be part of history in India with the introduction of our very first model - the Datsun GO. Together, we have embarked on a long journey in one of the most complex, demanding and promising markets in the world. We are confident that the aspirational ‘Risers’ in India will identify with our product and brand.”
