The Citroën C5 Aircross is now pricier than before. The entry-level variant of the French SUV now costs above Rs 31 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
The Frech car maker Citroën stepped into the country early this year with its C5 Aircross SUV. At the time of the launch in April, the French SUV was priced in the range of Rs 29.90-Rs 31.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, the Citroën C5 Aircross has seen a substantial price hike and the entry-level Feel variant starts at Rs 31.30 lakh (ex-showroom) which is a hike of Rs 1.40 lakh over its introductory price. Similarly, the Shine variant of the C5 Aircross is now dearer as well and retails for Rs 32.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
Following are the updated prices of the Citroën C5 Aircross:
Citroën C5 Aircross Feel - Rs 31.30 lakh (ex-showroom)
Citroën C5 Aircross Feel (dual-tone) - Rs 31.80 lakh (ex-showroom)
Citroën C5 Aircross Shine - Rs 32.80 lakh (ex-showroom)
Citroën C5 Aircross Shine (dual-tone) - Rs 32.80 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Citroën C5 Aircross is sold via the CKD route. The SUV is assembled at the manufacturer’s plant at Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. The C5 Aircross features a 2.0-litre diesel engine that comes paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The power figures are respectable at 174.3bhp and 400Nm. The SUV only gets a front-wheel-drive layout for now and the manufacturer has no plans on bringing an all-wheel-drive version anytime soon.
Instead, Citroën will focus on the more affordable space of the car market with the introduction of its C3. The Citroën C3 is a B+ segment crossover-hatchback which will make its India debut in the first quarter of 2022. The C3 will be locally produced with up to 90 per cent parts localisation which is likely to translate to aggressive pricing and affordable ownership costs.
