With the launch of C3 earlier this year, Citroen India already forayed into the entry-level segment. The French automaker also revealed its plans to enter the EV segment with the electric version of the hatchback, which will be called the "eC3." The upcoming EV is likely to make its official debut in January 2023. The brand-new Citroen eC3 EV has been recently spotted in its production-ready phase ahead of its anticipated unveiling next month. The eC3 was spotted at a charging station, painted in an orange shade, and according to the earlier shots, could have the charging point on the front fender. The eC3 has the same exterior design and appearance as the petrol variant of the C3, comprising split headlamps, steel wheels with covers, square tail lamps, roof rails, and a dual-tone paint scheme.

Although the Citroen eC3's technical details are still unknown, it is likely that it will be powered by a 20 to 30kWh battery pack, with a potential driving range of 200 to 250 kilometres. Reportedly, the hatchback will produce 84bhp of maximum power and 143Nm of peak torque. When it launches, the Citroen eC3 EV will lock horns with the likes of the Tata Tiago EV.
