Citroen has revealed the C5 Aircross concept, offering an early look at the exterior of the next-generation SUV, which will be released next year. The production-spec C5 Aircross will have a more aggressive design than its predecessor, featuring a more erect profile and boxier body contours. It will include elements similar to the European-based C3 Aircross, like a three-point light signature, horizontal DRLs, and vertically mounted headlights.
Other notable highlights include wide wheel arches, large wheels, a longer rear overhang, and a pair of horizontal lines on both sides of the Citroen insignia at the back. While the interior has yet to be revealed, we anticipate some interesting upgrades. Read on for more details.

Citroen C5 Aircross Concept: More Highlights
The upcoming C5 Aircross will be the first Citroen car to use Stellantis' STLA Medium platform, which supports electric, hybrid, and internal combustion drivetrains. Notably, this platform already underpins the Opel Grandland and the Peugeot 3008/5008.
Commenting on the debut of the new platform on the SUV, the company states that the 'C5 Aircross Concept will be able to adapt to the needs and uses of a wide range of customers in this market segment. This platform will also enable customers to benefit from a host of driving aids and a state-of-the-art connectivity and infotainment interface. With its long wheelbase, the C5 Aircross Concept is ideally proportioned to provide generous space for five people.' In terms of dimensions, the upcoming SUV is 150mm longer than its predecessor, measuring 4.65mm in length.
For now, Citroen hasn't disclosed any precise mechanical specifics, but given the new platform, we expect the new SUV to have a variety of powertrain options. In India, the current-gen Citroen C5 Aircross SUV is powered by a single 2-litre diesel engine that produces 174bhp and 400Nm. For transmission, it uses an 8-speed automatic unit. The SUV has two core variants (Feel and Shine), and four monotone and three dual-tone colour options. It can accommodate up to 5 people.
