The C3 is Citroen's second product in India, and here's how it fares on paper against the homegrown Tata Punch SUV.
Citroen has launched its second offering, the C3, in India today. The car will compete in the B-SUV segment and will take on the likes of the Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis. Now, one of its biggest rivals is the Tata Punch, which has been slowly gaining momentum in the country. So, as the French carmaker debuts the C3, let's look at how it fairs against the homegrown Punch SUV on paper.

As you can see, the Citroen C3 is the bigger car of the two only in terms of length. The Punch is wider by 9mm and higher by 29mm than the C3. The C3, however, has a longer wheelbase than the Tata Punch, which is likely to translate into more space inside.

The C3 is available with two petrol engine options, along with two manual transmission options. There is no automatic for now. The Tata Punch, on the other hand, gets a single engine option, but it does get an AMT. Now, it should be noted that Citroen has announced that it will introduce an automatic transmission option soon.
Citroen C3 vs Tata Punch: Price
The Citroen C3 has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 5.71 lakh (ex-showroom), which is about Rs 12,000 more than the starting price of the Tata Punch SUV. Now, one can get the top-rung variant of the C3 for Rs 8.06 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-run variant of Tata Punch with the manual transmission will cost you around Rs 8.72 lakh (ex-showroom).
