Citroen has unveiled the new C3 Aircross SUV for the Indian market. It is based on the CMP modular platform, which also underpins other Stellantis vehicles like the Citroen C3 and the Jeep Fiat. While the C3 Aircross remains largely unchanged from the C3 in terms of its exterior and interior design, it does have bigger dimensions. According to the manufacturer, it is created and engineered in the country. When launched in India, the new SUV will lock horns with B-segment SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. The Aircross has a three-row seating layout with two seating configuration options – a standard 5-seater configuration and a 7-seater configuration (5+2).
Citroen C3 Aircross SUV: Exterior Design
In terms of design, the Aircross SUV is almost identical to the C3, except for a few design changes. The newly unveiled car has the same split headlight design, two-slat grille design, and wraparound taillamps. Moreover, it comes with a gloss black panel up front, additional body-coloured accents in the middle, a silver skid plate, square-shaped taillights, body cladding across the bottom panels, and a rectangular air dam with fog lamps. It sits on dual-tone 4-spoked 17-inch alloy wheels.

Citroen C3 Aircross SUV: Interior & Features
Inside, the Citroen C3 Aircross offers three-row seating and features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, similar to the one available in the C3. There is also an electric sunroof, a multifunctional steering wheel, a large fully digital instrument console, an engine start/stop switch, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, ventilated front seats, roof-mounted AC vents for the second row, adjustable front headrests, a cabin lamp at the rear, and USB ports.
Citroen C3 Aircross SUV: Powertrain & Performance
The C3 Aircross is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged PureTech petrol engine, which produces 109bhp and 190Nm and sends power to the wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, an automatic transmission option for the SUV is also likely to be on the cards in the near future.

Citroen C3 Aircross SUV: Price & Competition
While the prices of the Citroen C3 Aircross have not been revealed yet, it is expected to range between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). If we go by industry reports, the company could launch the SUV in the second half of this year. Once launched, the car will go against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Kia Carens, and Maruti Suzuki XL6 in the mid-size SUV segment.
