French automaker Citroen has now launched the C3 Aircross SUV in the Indian market. The mid-size vehicle goes on sale at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh for the entry-level 1.2P Turbo You variant. Prices for the mid-spec Plus range between Rs 11.30 lakh and Rs 11.45 lakh, while the top-spec Max variant carries a price tag of Rs 11.95 to Rs 12.10 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. The manufacturer has started accepting bookings for the SUV for a token amount of Rs 25,000, with deliveries commencing from October 15, 2023. Prospective buyers can book the same either through an offline or an online medium –any La Maison Citroen showroom or the official Citroen India website (Citroen.in). In addition to the 3 variants that the model comes in, there is also a 5+2 seating version, which is called the Flexi Pro (available only for Plus and Max variants). This Flexi Pro model commands a premium of Rs 35,000 over the 5-seater C3 Aircross. As for the dual-tone and the Vibe Pack, you will have to shell out an extra Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000, respectively. Again, this dual-tone exterior colour option and the styling pack are offered as an option with the Plus and the Max variants. To refresh the memory of our readers, the automaker pulled the covers off the C3 Aircross for the Indian market in April 2023, and it is the brand's fourth product and the only one available in five- and seven-seater configurations within Citroen India's portfolio.

Citroen C3 Aircross SUV: Engine and Gearbox
At its heart is a 1.2-litre Gen3 turbo-petrol engine with 108bhp at 5,500rpm and 190Nm of peak torque at 1,750rpm. With this powertrain, the brand-new C3 Aircross is claimed to offer unmatched driving performance. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. An automatic gearbox option is also on the cards and is expected to be offered at a later date. In terms of mileage, the car yields an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency rating of 18.5km/l.
Citroen C3 Aircross SUV: Dimensions, Design
The new Citroen C3 Aircross is 4,323mm long. Citreon says that the model features a 2,671mm-long wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 200mm. Design-wise, it is defined by the company as a blend of unique, muscular, and bold design with signature Citroen comfort and well-being for all passengers. Up front, the SUV gets LED daytime running lights, halogen headlamps, and a new bumper with fog lamps. On the sides, there are muscular wheel arches with large wheels and tyres. Wheel-arch claddings, side sill claddings, and front and rear skid plates give the C3 Aircross true SUV credentials, while its roof rails and rear spoiler help ensure enhanced aerodynamics. The tail lamps are connected by a gloss black panel with the Citroen logo in the centre, while the brand's Chevron logo is integrated into the grille. The SUV rides on 17-inch Quadratic alloy wheels.
Citroen C3 Aircross SUV: Interior, Features
The model packs in a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, tropicalised air conditioning, segment-first roof-mounted air vents, connected car tech, automatic climate control, USB ports, and more. In terms of safety, it gets a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill-hold assist, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability programme, and auto start-stop tech. However, the car misses out on cruise control, wireless charging, ventilated seats, automatic air conditioning, and up to six airbags. Note that these features shall vary depending on the variant.
Also, the 5-seater vehicle offers rear-seat knee room and up to 444 litres of luggage volume, while the 5+2-seater layout adds intelligent modularity for various uses, featuring a third row of two individual seats. The rear seats can be folded down or removed individually, allowing for customizable space with up to 511 litres of luggage capacity.
Citroen C3 Aircross SUV: Price, Rivals
Customers will have the option of choosing from six dual-tone hues, four monotone shades, and two interior dashboard finishes (Bronze and Grey). Plus, buyers can choose from four customisation packs namely, Vibe, Elegance, Travel, and Care.
The C3 Aircross is developed at Citroen's Thiruvallur plant in Tamil Nadu, with over 90 per cent localisation. Priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 12.10 lakh (ex-showroom), the SUV takes on the likes of the Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
