Citroen India took to its social media handles to announce the debut of the much-awaited C3 Aircross with a teaser. According to the carmaker, the all-new SUV will debut in our market on April 27. The Citroen C3 Aircross has already been on sale in Europe since 2017. According to reports, the forthcoming version could come with a generation change for the overseas market. Right now, the carmaker has released the first official teaser of the upcoming C3 Aircross SUV, which be will be the most recent addition to the rapidly growing B-SUV market. In this market, vehicles like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Hyundai Creta, the Kia Seltos, and the Toyota Hyryder dominate monthly sales. The brand-new SUV from Citroen will be manufactured in India. It will be produced at the company's plant, located in Tamil Nadu. According to the official teaser, the SUV has a split LED headlamp design with integrated DRLs, also seen on the C3 hatchback. It will probably come with both the 5 and 7-seat configurations. Citroen C3 Aircross: Exterior & Interior
Appearance-wise, the upcoming C3 Aircross will have an SUV look. In terms of exterior styling, it could mirror the C3 hatchback in the form of a similar grille, split headlight arrangement, wraparound tail lamps, and more. Inside also, many design elements, including the switchgear and steering wheel designs, will be lifted from the C3. However, the upcoming SUV will get an all-new dashboard with a layered effect. There will be new and wider AC vents than those seen on the C3, and a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. On higher-specified models, automatic climate control will be available.
Citroen C3 Aircross: Engine & Platform Details
Mechanically, the upcoming SUV will reportedly be a petrol-only offering as of now. It is expected to draw power from a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, similar to its hatchback sibling. This engine is capable of delivering 108bhp and 190Nm and uses a 6-speed manual transmission. For the gearbox, the upcoming SUV could get additional options. Currently, there is no official confirmation, but the Citroen C3 Aircross might get an electric powertrain choice in the future. The new C3 Aircross SUV will be built on the CMP modular platform. This platform already serves as the foundation for a large number of Stellantis cars from manufacturers like Jeep, Fiat, and the made-in-India Citroen C3.

Citroen C3 Aircross: Market Rivals & Launch Timeline
In terms of market competition, the 5-seater version of the SUV will lock horns with the Hyundai Creta, the Kia Seltos, the Toyota Hyryder, etc. The 7-seater model, on the other hand, will go up against the Kia Carens, and the Maruti Suzuki XL6. The new SUV will launch first in India before being introduced in other markets. According to industry reports, it will go on sale in later 2023.
