Citroen C3 Aircross Bookings to Commence in September, Deliveries in October

In April 2023, Citroen, the well-known French automaker, debuted the C3 Aircross for the first time in the country. For those who are unaware, this product is the manufacturer's fourth model and the only one available in five- and seven-seat configurations within Citroen India's portfolio. As of now, the C3, the eC3, and the C5 Aircross are models that the maker offers in our home market. The C3 Aircross has been developed at Citroen's Thiruvallur plant in Tamil Nadu with over 90 per cent localisation. Meanwhile, in a recent development, the company has now formally confirmed that bookings for the forthcoming SUV are scheduled to open in September, with deliveries expected to get underway in October, probably soon after it arrives in the Indian market. Till then, let's take a quick look at what this anticipated SUV will offer in terms of features, mileage, and other specifications.

Citroen C3 Aircross: Colour Options and Dimensions

The C3 Aircross will come in a fully loaded single Max trim. A five-seater and seven-seater version of the car will be available for purchase. There are six dual-tone hues, two interior dashboard finishes (Bronze and Grey), and four exterior monotone shades offered in terms of colour options. Moreover, buyers can choose from four customisation packs namely, Vibe, Elegance, Travel, and Care. 

Dimension-wise, the upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross likely possesses a length of about 4,300mm. Moreover, the company has confirmed the model's 2,671mm wheelbase and 200mm ground clearance. 

Citroen C3 Aircross: Engine and Gearbox

A 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 108bhp of maximum power and 190Nm of peak torque will power the brand-new C3 Aircross. It will be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. An automatic gearbox option will likely be added later. This unit is the same as the one found in the turbocharged C3 hatchback. Further, the carmaker recently confirmed the powertrain details and revealed the fuel efficiency figures of the C3 Aircross SUV. It boasts a fuel efficiency rating of 18.5km/l, according to ARAI certification. The model's 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol variant and the entry-level 1.0-litre turbo petrol variant of other midsize SUVs are direct competitors for this powerplant.

Citroen C3 Aircross: Feature Set

On the feature front, expect the car to come equipped with a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay compatibility, steering-mounted controls, connected car tech, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and more. Nevertheless, none of the car's models will come with a sunroof. In order to enhance the safety of all occupants, it gets a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill-hold assist, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and auto start-stop tech.

Notably, the significant features that rival vehicles in its class offer but the C3 Aircross does not include are cruise control, wireless charging, ventilated seats, automatic air conditioning, and up to six airbags.

Citroen C3 Aircross: Rivals and Expected Price

The soon-to-be-launched C3 Aircross SUV from Citroen is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). Its market rivals upon launch will include the Honda Elevate, the Hyundai Creta, the Skoda Kushaq, the Volkswagen Taigun, the Kia Seltos, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and the MG Astor.
