French automaker Citroen has confirmed that bookings for its upcoming C3 Aircross will commence on September 15 onwards in India. The Aircross will go on sale sometime next month, followed by customer deliveries. Expect the model to carry a price tag of around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). In April this year, the automaker pulled the covers off the C3 Aircross for the Indian market. A 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with 108bhp and 190Nm of peak torque powers the brand-new C3 Aircross. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. An automatic gearbox option is also on the cards and is expected to be offered at a later date. In terms of mileage, the car yields an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency rating of 18.5km/l. With its sight firmly set on the Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Aircross is almost ready to compete in the hotly-contested mid-size SUV segment in India. For those unaware, it is the brand's fourth product and the only one available in five- and seven-seat configurations within Citroen India's portfolio.
