Citroen Basalt You, Plus, Max Variants Explained: What's Different?

Citroen recently launched its fourth model under the C-Cubed programme, the Basalt, marking the company's entry into the coupe-SUV segment. Positioned above its platform sibling, the C3, the Citroen Basalt ranges from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 13.62 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the model are already underway for a token amount of Rs 11,001, while deliveries are scheduled to commence in the first week of September 2024.

The Citroen Basalt gets two engine options – 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol. The former produces 108bhp and 205Nm of peak torque, while the latter makes 81bhp and 115Nm. The naturally aspirated unit is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only, while the turbo-petrol engine gets a 6-speed torque converter automatic and a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Citroen Basalt: Variants

The Citroen Basalt is available in three variants – You, Plus, and Max. The You is the entry-level variant of the Basalt and can be had only with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, while the mid-spec Plus comes with three powertrain options: 1.2-litre NA, 1.2-litre turbo-MT, and 1.2-litre turbo-AT. The Max is the top-spec variant in the lineup and is offered only with a turbo-petrol engine.
