The production-ready Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV is undergoing rigorous testing in India ahead of its launch in H2 2024. The most recent test mule seems to be a mid-spec model, missing out on certain features such as the projector LED headlight and alloy wheels seen on the Basalt Vision concept. Though it hasn't been confirmed, the Coupe SUV will likely come in a higher-end trim level with all the bells and whistles. It will directly compete with the upcoming Tata Curvv, and serve as an alternative to models such as the Honda Elevate, the MG Astor, the Skoda Kushaq, and the Hyundai Creta.

Citroen Basalt: Appearance
The most recently spotted mid-spec variant has turn indicators on the ORVMs. It resembles the Citroen C3 Aircross, with a coupe-style roofline. It exhibits attractive proportions and bold character lines as the Concept that made its debut in March. Previous spy photos suggest the Citroen SUV will feature square-shaped LED headlamps, thick door sill and rear bumper cladding, multi-spoke, dual-tone alloy wheels, a tilted rear windscreen, and wraparound taillights.
Citroen Basalt: Features
The new SUV from the French automaker will likely have a tyre pressure monitoring system, six airbags, a hill hold assist, a rearview camera, and parking sensors as standard. It is expected to sport a large touchscreen infotainment system, a 3-spoke steering wheel, a wireless charging pad, electric ORVMs, automatic climate control, and a digital instrument cluster.
Citroen Basalt: Engine
The Basalt will probably have the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine as the Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross. This unit has a maximum power of 108bhp and a peak torque of 189Nm, paired with a manual or automatic transmission. While the company will not offer a diesel engine, it may introduce an electric version of the car soon.
Citroen Basalt: Expected Price
It is anticipated that the upcoming Citroen Coupe SUV will retail for a reasonable Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
