Citroen India has increased the price of its Coupe SUV, the Basalt, by up to Rs 28,000, depending on the variant. The Basalt has three core variants—You, Plus, and Max—and two engine options. The mid-range Plus model is available with either a 1.2-litre normally aspirated petrol engine or a more powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. Meanwhile, the entry-level You variant has a single N/A petrol engine. The high-end Max variant, on the other hand, is exclusively offered with the turbo-petrol engine.
Following the most recent price hike, the 1.2 turbo-petrol MT and AT Plus variants of the Citroen car have become costlier by up to Rs 28,000. The entry-level 1.2 petrol MT You variant has seen a price bump of Rs 26,000. Meanwhile, both the single-tone and dual-tone 1.2 turbo-petrol MT Max variants of the SUV coupe are now Rs 21,000 more expensive. Additionally, the price of the 1.2 turbo-petrol AT Max and its dual-tone sibling has increased by Rs 17,000 each.

Interestingly, the 1.2 petrol MT Plus continues to be priced at Rs 9.99 lakh. With all these price adjustments, the Basalt now starts at Rs 8.25 lakh and goes up to Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). Let’s dive into the other features of the Basalt.
Citroen Basalt: Powertrain
The Citroen Basalt has two engine options. The first is a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit that delivers 108bhp and 205Nm and is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The second option is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine that produces 81bhp and 115Nm and is exclusively mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Citroen Basalt: Features
The Basalt is equipped with a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 7.0-inch digital display for the driver, automatic climate control, electric folding mirrors, rear AC vents, keyless entry, a 15W wireless phone charger, and push-button start/stop. It boasts a segment-first feature with its rear bench seat, providing adjustable thigh support.
