The latest SUV from the house of General Motors has been spied being tested in the NCR region and the competition to Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai Santa Fe is expected to launch soon.
A camouflaged Chevrolet Trailblazer was spied in the NCR region yesterday and it has got us believing that it should launch in the Indian market somewhere in the second half of 2015. The premium SUV from the General Motors family is expected to take on the likes of the new Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai Santa Fe.
Being tested in this summer heat around Delhi means that Chevrolet is trying to check the car’s toughness to withstand the harsh geographical conditions India has to offer. Not to be missed are the projector headlamps and a large multimedia screen in the centre console.
The car will be powered by a 2.8-litre, diesel engine producing around 190bhp of power and 500Nm of torque. This engine will be mated with a six-speed automatic transmission which will deliver the power to the wheels using either the 2WD or 4WD option as available in other Asian markets like Thailand.
According to the pictures, the car looks ready for production and this makes us believe that we might witness its launch somewhere in the second half of 2015. Depending on the route GM decides for the Trailblazer to reach the Indian shore, the car should cost somewhere around Rs. 25 lakhs making it a tough competition to the Toyota Fortuner.
