Chevrolet is recalling 1.01 lakh units of the Beat diesel in India owing to a possibly defective clutch pedal
Chevrolet India is recalling Beat diesel models manufactured between December 2011 and July 2014 for a possibly defective clutch pedal lever. It has been reported that in some cases, the clutch pedal lever has cracked. Diesel engined cars usually have a heavier clutch operation as compared to petrol cars. And the issue could possibly arrive from the same clutch pedal being fitted to both petrol and diesel models.
The recall will cater to all Beat diesel models manufactured within the aforementioned time frame. All 248 Chevrolet dealerships across the country will cater to the recall. All cars recalled will have their clutch pedals inspected and if need be, have the pedals replaced free of cost to owners. Customers can call their nearest Chevy dealer and schedule an appointment to have the clutch pedal in their cars inspected and replaced if needed.
A total of 1,01,597 units of the Chevrolet Beat diesel have been impacted by the recall.
“Quality and care are our highest priorities and we are committed to putting customers at the centre of everything we do. If we foresee a potential issue, we ensure that it is corrected as soon as possible, as part of our complete commitment to customer satisfaction,” stated, Chevrolet India said in a statement on the matter.
