Here’s the ultimate guide to the 2016 Auto Expo from the 5th to the 9th of February 2016, at Greater Noida, in the National Capital Region.
Maruti Suzuki
Hall 7
The theme Maruti Suzuki has chosen for their stand at the Auto Expo is “Transformation.” Derived from Transformation through Motion, Maruti has said their idea is to transform the Indian Automotive Experience, from products, to design and technology, to the way it connects with its customers with a new and improved Maruti Suzuki 2.0.
Vitara Brezza: 4 years ago, at the Delhi Auto Expo, MSIL had showcased the XA Alpha compact SUV concept, and said they would soon put the vehicle into production. Ever since then, the production version of the car has been highly anticipated. Maruti has announced that at the Expo this year, they will globally unveil the production-ready compact SUV on February 3rd, which they’ve christened the ‘Vitara Brezza.’ Only minimal details have been revealed by Maruti about the Vitara Brezza, which include 16-inch alloy wheels, squarish wheel arches, and bold and muscular styling. The Vitara Brezza has been designed and engineered by the Maruti Suzuki development teams led by Chief Engineer CV Raman.
Concept Ignis: On the 4th of February, Maruti will reveal their concept compact urban vehicle called the Ignis. The Ignis was first showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2015, and is bound for the Indian market soon.
Concept Baleno RS, 1.0 Boosterjet: Maruti will also showcase a concept performance RS version of the recently launched Baleno. Maruti says the vehicle will feature new bold and sporty styling in addition to the 1.0 Boosterjet direct injection turbo petrol engine that is being offered in the Baleno in Europe.
Ford
Hall 1
Ford’s highlight at the Auto Expo will undoubtedly be the new Endeavour, which looks more butch and rugged than ever before. The Endeavour is available with a 2.2 litre turbo diesel motor with the choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, while the flagship 3.2 litre engine will get a six-speed automatic unit. At the other end of the scale will be the V8 powered Mustang, with 435bhp on tap and a top speed of 262km/h. Expect the Mustang to be the only car in its price bracket offering its level of performance.
Hyundai

Hyundai will be showcasing some concept cars at the expo, alongside its range of models on sale in India. The new Tucson SUV will also be showcased, as the model is expected to be launched in India in 2017. Now in its third generation, the Tucson bears a strong resemblance to other Hyundai SUVs, with its bold chrome grille, swept back headlamps, along with lots of those fluidic design elements. Hyundai will also be looking to take the brand’s image forward in the country, with the showcase of its Vision Gran Turismo concept – which is the craziest concept concieved by the company’s N performance division’s.
Jeep

Jeep is finally set to make its India comeback, and will be showcasing its flagship model – the Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee will compete against the likes of the Audi Q7 in India, and will be powered by a 240bhp 3.0 litre V6 diesel engine. Jeep will also showcase the performance oriented Grand Cherokee SRT, with a stonking Hemi V8 engine. Meanwhile, the evergreen Wrangler, in Unlimited spec, will appeal to the ever-growing off-road enthusiasts in the country.
Mercedes-Benz
Hall 15
Mercedes-Benz is gearing up for the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo by bringing some rather splendid models for showcase at the show. Among the top three most alluring showcases are the new GLC, which has gone on to become a best seller for Mercedes. Alongside this, the new S-Class Cabriolet will be unveiled too, and taking things up a notch will be the armoured Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard limousine. Mercedes-AMG F1 will also be showcasing the 2015 F1 championship-winning F1 W06 Hybrid racer. Besides the aforementioned showcases, there will also be models on display from the company’s India and global model line-up.
Toyota

Toyota is gearing up for the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo with a host of models to excite its fans, enthusiasts, and visitors. The fourth-generation Prius, launched in Japan in December 2015, will be showcased at the expo, and will hit the Indian market in 2016. Toyota expects to touch annual sales of 3-3.5 lakh units of the Prius globally. The new Prius was conceptualized to be lighter and more affordable. Along these lines, the car’s got better batteries with higher energy density, smaller electric motors, and greater thermal efficiency for the petrol engine. And the new Prius isn’t going to be the only environmentally-friendly model that Toyota will showcase at the expo, as the Mirai will also make it to the show. The Toyota Mirai is a hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle based on the Toyota Fuel Cell System that consists of the company’s proprietary fuel cell stack and high pressure hydrogen tanks. The best part is that, unlike traditional hybrids, the Mirai fuel cell car emits no carbon emissions whatsoever. Toyota is also likely to showcase new generation iterations of its two bestselling models in India, the Fortuner and Innova!
BMW
Hall 10
BMW will be bringing its new flagship 7 Series saloon to the 2016 Auto Expo. The car comes loaded with a host of new technologies and features – and just when you thought it couldn’t get any better to drive, BMW claims it is! Also on display will be the new X1, which looks far more modern than the first gen model, and gets a more spacious and comfortable cabin. Plus, BMW had opened bookings for the new 1 Series in late 2015, and the car will be launched at the expo. The face-lifted 3 Series, with cosmetic and mechanical revisions, will also be showcased.
Honda
Hall 9
The highlight at the Honda stall will undoubtedly be the upcoming BR-V mid-size SUV, which will make its India debut at the show. The other big showstopper at the stall will be the new Honda Accord, which will also make its India debut at the show. The Accord, now in its ninth generation, looks bigger and more premium than ever before. Being an Accord, expect excellent seating and ride comfort. Concept model showcases by Honda will include the Honda Project 2&4, and a racing concept of the Jazz hatchback, which should have an interesting appearance. Honda will also showcase the McLaren Honda MP4-30 2015 F1 car to add to all the excitement.
Volkswagen

Volkswagen will be showcasing three all-new vehicles for India at the upcoming Auto Expo. And the biggest unveil for the Indian market will undoubtedly be the new compact sedan, which will be called the Ameo. This new compact model shares its platform with the Polo and Vento. It’ll be powered by the same 1.2 MPI, 1.2 TSI and 1.5 TDI engines. The car will be positioned as a premium offering in the compact sedan segment. VW will also be showcasing the Passat GTE, which is the hybrid version of the new Passat. The car is powered by the company’s 1.4 litre TSI petrol engine and an electric motor – the combined output of which is 215bhp. In pure electric mode, the VW Passat GTE has a driving range of 50 kilometres, while the combined driving range of the car is said to be a phenomenal 1,000 kilometres. Volkswagen is looking to launch the new generation Passat in India soon. The other significant showcase will be of the Tiguan premium SUV.
Datsun & Nissan

Datsun will be bringing its rugged looking Go-Cross concept to the expo, which is based on the same platform as the Go and Go+. It’s a pure concept at this stage, and the company hasn’t announced any intentions of producing the car. Although, considering the demand for rugged and lifestyle vehicles these days, the Go-Cross could become a reality. Expect to see the production-spec Go and Go+ showcased alongside. Parent brand Nissan will be present at the expo too, and will be showcasing the GT-R – which is its halo performance model. Expect to see the rest of Nissan’s India line-up, alongside some race-spec models to keep its GT Academy fans engaged.
Jaguar

The Jaguar XE will be making its India debut at the Expo, where it’ll be launched. The car will be priced at a premium over its rivals, owing to its aluminum intensive architecture and brand new aluminum block engines. India will initially get the 2.0 litre, four cylinder petrol motors – perhaps owing to the ban on diesel engines above 2,000cc in the National Capital. Alongside the all-new XE will be the sleek F-Pace crossover as well, which will compete against the Range Rover Evoque. The timing of the India launch of the car is not certain at this point.
Audi
Hall 11
Introduced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the new second generation R8 will grace the 2016 Auto Expo as well. The new model shares its platform with its sibling, the Lamborghini Huracan, and is now available only with a V10 engine as opposed to the earlier model that had a V8 as well. Available in two versions, 5.2 FSI Quattro and 5.2 FSI Quattro V10 Plus, the latter variant develops 602bhp of max power @ 8250rpm and 560Nm of peak torque @ 6500rpm. The 0 to 100km/h sprint is dealt with in 2.7 seconds, and the top speed is pegged at 340km/h. Unlike the earlier car, you only get a 7-speed double-clutch transmission. Taking the Mercedes-Benz S Guard head on will be the new Audi A8 L Security armoured luxo barge. Expect an eye watering price for this one if it’s launched. Audi will also be showcasing its All-Road Quattro concept at the expo. The company has recently confirmed that it’ll be building a compact SUV along these lines, badged the Q2.
Chevrolet
Hall 5
Chevrolet India will showcase two new concept vehicle at the Auto Expo. The American brand will also be showcasing the new Cruze for India, which has become much sleeker than the current model. There will also be the new Chevrolet Spin people carrier, which is due for an India launch in 2017. Of course, Chevrolet will showcase the Trailblazer SUV, which is already on sale here. In keeping with tradition, the iconic Corvette sportscar and Camaro muscle car will also be on display, in addition to the humongous Colorado pick-up truck.
Tata
Hall 14
Tata will be present at the Auto Expo with its all-new Zica B-segment hatchback that is likely to be launched during the event. The Zica is a truly modern take by Tata and will give its rivals such as the Celerio and Beat a run for their money. Power comes from a 1.2 litre 83bhp petrol engine and a 1.05 litre three cylinder petrol engine. Both these three cylinder units are all new motors and offer good driveability. The homegrown car maker will also showcase its Nexon compact SUV concept that is based on the company’s X1 platform.
Mahindra
Hall 10
Mahindra will be present at the 2016 Auto Expo too with some funky concepts of the Thar. The recently launched KUV100 is sure to grab a lot of attention at the expo as well. The homegrown carmaker will be showcasing other vehicles from its model line-up at the expo as well. Mahindra will also be showcasing the Verito Electric, which recently hit the news as Union Minister, Anant Geete arrived at Parliament last December in one. The car was showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo as well. Along the same lines, Mahindra may also showcase its all-electric Halo sports car concept, which was also present at the last edition of the Expo.
