Here's a list of cars, including the Hyundai Santro and the Volkswagen Polo, which were discontinued in 2022. Several automakers, such as Hyundai Motor Company, Maruti Suzuki, and Mahindra & Mahindra, have reportedly discontinued some of their popular models in 2022. Let's have a look at some of the cars that have been axed from their manufacturer's portfolio.
Volkswagen Polo
The hatchback was among the top-selling cars in India. Reportedly, the automaker managed to sell around 25 units of the model before discontinuing it in the market. The hatchback used to cost between Rs.5.83 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs. 10.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai Santro
The car was priced between Rs.2.72 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs. 6.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The oldest car in the manufacturer's portfolio, the Santro was a rival to the Maruti Suzuki Alto in the Indian market. Poor sales performance could be one of the reasons behind the discontinuation of this long-running hatchback.
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross
The compact SUV was among the least purchased cars in the company's line-up. Launched in 2015, the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross was competing with the Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Creta. The model used to price between Rs. 8.95 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs. 12.92 lakh (ex-showroom). Owing to the possible failure in terms of meeting the needs of the buyers, the car has been discontinued in India.
Renault Duster
One of the most popular models in India, the Renault Duster has been reportedly discontinued in India. The car was available at a price ranging between Rs. 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and 14.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It was one of the cars to offer four-wheel drive in the SUV segment. Renault India Private Limited is tight-lipped on bringing the model back anytime soon with upgrades.

Mahindra Alturas G4
Mahindra & Mahindra has presumably axed the Mahindra Alturas G4 from the line-up, as it has delisted the model from its website in India. The dropping sales figures and minimal updates could be the possible reasons behind its speculated discontinuation. The car used to cost between Rs. 27.70 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs. 31.88 lakh (ex-showroom).
