Instituted in 1984, the Car Design Award is a premier international accolade awarded to the design teams that have created the best production and concept car projects and the best brand design language.
The finalists of the 2021 edition of the Car Design Award have been announced. As per the rulebook, this year's 12-member jury, of which our editor, Dhruv Behl, is proud to be a part of, has shortlisted ten production car models, ten concepts, and five brands for the three award categories – Production Cars, Concept Cars, and Brand Design Language – after the first round of voting. The third category, i.e. Brand Design Language, recognises the top five brands that have stood out in terms of the formal design language of their entire product range. As for the shortlisted cars, only those models unveiled between 1st April 2020 and 31st March 2021 qualify for the 2021 Car Design Award.
