The Sealion 7, with its larger dimensions and a range of up to 567 km, provides a more powerful performance with options for RWD and AWD configurations. In contrast, the BMW iX1 LWB offers a more compact profile but maintains a strong technological presence with its advanced infotainment system and Level 2 ADAS suite. In terms of pricing, the BYD Sealion 7 is available at Rs 48.90 lakh for the entry-level Premium variant and Rs 54.90 lakh for the high-end Performance variant.

Meanwhile, the BMW iX1 LWB is priced at Rs 49 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures. Beyond competing with each other, both vehicles also rival the Volvo EX40, Kia EV6, and the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

The BYD Sealion 7 has dimensions of 4,830mm in length, 1,925mm in width, and 1,620mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,930mm. It offers a generous 520-litre boot capacity for cargo storage.

In contrast, the BMW iX1 LWB is shorter, measuring 4,616mm in length and slightly narrower at 1,845mm, though it stands taller at 1,627mm. Its wheelbase is 2,800mm, and it has a smaller 490-litre boot capacity.

The BYD Sealion 7 is available in both RWD and AWD versions, each powered by an 82.6kWh battery. The RWD variant delivers 308bhp and 380Nm of torque, with a range of 567 km on a full charge. Meanwhile, the performance-oriented AWD variant delivers 523bhp of maximum power and 690Nm of peak torque, with a range of 542 km. It accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 215km/h.

The BMW iX1 comes in the eDrive20L M Sport variant, equipped with a 66.4kWh battery and a single PMSM motor that produces 201bhp and 250Nm of torque. It is claimed to offer a range of 531 km on a full charge. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 8.6 seconds. For quicker charging, a 130 kW DC charger can recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 29 minutes, adding approximately 120 km of range in just 10 minutes. With an 11 kW AC charger, it takes around 6.5 hours to fully charge the battery from 0%. Additionally, it comes with an 11 kW wall box charger for home use.

Coming to the features, the Sealion 7 boasts a variety of cutting-edge features, such as an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory, a panoramic glass roof, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, ventillated front seats, vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, a head-up display (HUD), a 12-speaker audio system, and a powered tailgate.

The BMW iX1 electric SUV comes with similar premium features such as dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, rear seats that can recline up to 28.5 degrees with a 40:20:40 split-folding option, a ‘Widescreen Curved Display’ that combines a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 205W 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and Veganza leatherette upholstery.

For safety, the model has ISOFIX child seat mounts, eight airbags, park assist, Level 2 ADAS, and an electronic parking brake (EPB).
