BYD has announced that they are working with Stingray – a music, media, and technology firm – to bring Stingray Karaoke to many of its new electric vehicles. Chinese EV manufacturer says that the singing application will be made accessible to BYD owners by the end of this year, eventually leading to a wider rollout in the subsequent years. The BYD-Stingray partnership will enable users to access Stingray's international song catalogue, which is browsable by title, artist, lyrics, or genre, in over 25 languages. The application will be integrated into BYD's infotainment system and is claimed to offer an engaging and intuitive user experience for all BYD owners.
Rooted in safety, Stingray Karaoke will offer BYD a platform to prevent the driver from being distracted, and it does this by automatically deactivating the Karaoke lyrics on the centre console when a car is in motion. Through the Passenger App, passengers can access Karaoke and queue up to 100 songs on their smartphone devices.

According to the EV company, even the in-vehicle experience can be tailor-made to suit the preferences of customers, as it will allow them to skip ahead, rewind, fast-forward songs, sing along with or without lead vocals, as well as toggle background videos. This agreement is another milestone for Stingray as it expands its reach to some of the most popular car brands in the world. In February 2023, the Canadian media group signed a global deal with Harman, the premier connected technology solutions, and Cariad, Volkswagen Group's software company, to embed its Stingray app into its selected Audi models around the globe. Moreover, all Tesla and VinFast cars feature Stingray Karaoke as the default service.
BYD models pack in a lot of nifty features, such as a 15.6-inch Intelligent-Rotate Screen, a HiFi-class Dynaudio sound system, an ADAS suite, and more. And with this latest move, the brand's intelligent network connection system is claimed to give a more user-friendly and efficient mobility experience.
