BYD eMAX 7: Design Cues
The eMAX 7 is essentially a revamped version of BYD's e6, which has been available in India for nearly three years. The latest update brings a refreshed design to the MPV. For the uninitiated, the eMAX 7 is already available in international markets. In terms of appearance, the eMAX 7 MPV will keep the same basic shape and size as the departing e6, but it will have significant changes to the fascia and the back end. Although the eMAX 7's headlamps resemble those of the e6, the interior has been updated with new lighting components. A newly designed air dam-equipped bumper and an enclosed grille with chrome linings are other front-end modifications. The rear profile of the car receives a revised bumper along with new rear lamps, connected by a thin light bar.
BYD eMAX 7: Battery Pack and Range
In Indonesia, the e6 has two different battery pack configurations: a 55.4kWh unit and a 71.8kWh unit. Similar to the e6, the eMAX 7 will likely be available with a 71.8kWh battery pack in India, which in the outgoing model provided up to 520 km of range. The 201bhp, 310Nm motor, expected to be offered for the forthcoming model, is also found in the Atto 3 and the M6. Nonetheless, the EV manufacturer claims that the new eMAX 7 would perform better than the model it replaced.
BYD eMAX 7: Features
As far as the interior is concerned, the most notable change is the larger 12.8-inch floating touchscreen, an upgrade from the 10.1-inch screen in the current model. Other than this, the dashboard remains largely the same. Minor updates to the centre console include two wireless charging pads, refreshed switchgear, and a new drive selector lever. Apart from that, the eMAX 7 EV features a redesigned steering wheel, though the instrument cluster retains its analogue dials. It will also come with powered front seats, panoramic sunroof, beige and black upholstery, and a six- or seven-seat configuration.
