Build Your Dreams, also known as BYD, is preparing to expand its lineup of electric vehicles to include another model for the Indian market. The Chinese manufacturer will soon unveil an entry-level Atto 3 variant, which is due to make its India debut on July 10. Ahead of its official price announcement, BYD has shared a teaser image of the upcoming model on social media platforms, providing insight into the silhouette of the same. The majority of the details about the new Atto 3 variant are yet to be revealed. Nevertheless, according to certain industry reports, the soon-to-be-launched trim will be reasonably priced and include a smaller battery setup with a respectable range.

BYD Atto 3 New Variant: Battery Specs
It remains to be seen if the forthcoming Atto 3 variant will receive an updated powertrain. The anticipated arrival of a more compact battery pack should bring cost advantages to the SUV. The new entry-level model is rumoured to be powered by a smaller 50kWh battery pack.
The current model is driven by BYD's e-Platform 3.0, which includes the LFP BladeBattery with an ARAI-claimed range of 521 km. It also comes with regenerative braking. The 60.48kWh battery pack powers a 201bhp/310Nm permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), driving only the front wheels. With these specs, the Atto 3 has a claimed top speed of 160km/h and a 0 to 100km/h acceleration time of 7.3 seconds.
BYD Atto 3 New Variant: Expected Price
When compared to the present Atto 3 model, the new variant should be more affordable. The current pricing of the electric SUV stands at Rs 33.99 lakh, and the upcoming variant will likely cost between Rs 26 lakh and Rs 28 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom figures. The range, expected to be about 450 km on a single charge, will be lowered by the smaller battery pack, though.
BYD Atto 3 New Variant: Design and Interior
It is anticipated that the vehicle will resemble the Atto 3 in terms of styling, with the same headlight configuration, roofline, and updated rear section. On top of that, the entry-level model may have the same chrome finish on both ends as the Atto 3. When it comes to the cabin, buyers may notice a few minor adjustments. To be more competitively priced in the market, the manufacturer is probably going to remove several interior components.
