The all-new Atto 3 comes with a 60.48kWh battery pack and offers an ARAI-certified driving range of 521kms.
Chinese automaker BYD has unveiled its Atto 3 electric SUV for the Indian market. Following the launch of the e6 MPV, which was made available to private buyers just recently, the Atto 3 is BYD's second model for India. Though the price of the EV will be revealed sometime towards the end of this year, BYD has opened its order books for an amount of ₹50,000. The Atto 3 will be available for deliveries by January 2023.
For the uninitiated, the all-new Atto 3 comes with the brand's 60.48kWh Blade Battery, providing a driving range of 521kms on a single charge. A DC fast charger can charge the Atto 3 from 0 to 80% in just 50 minutes. It is also equipped with a single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that generates 201bhp and 310Nm of peak torque. Thanks to these figures, it can accelerate from 0 – 100km/h in 7.3 seconds.
The BYD Atto 3 has a wheelbase of 2,720mm, and a length and width of 4,455mm and 1,875mm, respectively. It offers 440 litres of boot space.
Feature-wise, the Atto 3 offers an infotainment system with a 12.8-inch touchscreen, eight speakers, a panoramic sunroof, LED lighting, and a digital instrument cluster. The safety suite comprises seven airbags, a 360-degree parking camera, front and rear parking sensors, TPMS, ABS with EBD, ESP, TCS, and much more.
Expected to be priced under ₹30 lakh (ex-showroom), the Atto 3 will not have any direct competitors at this price point. However, it will indirectly compete with models such as the MG ZS EV, Tata Nexon EV Max, and Hyundai Kona EV.
