BYD India has launched two new entry-level variants of its Atto 3 electric SUV at a starting price of Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). These variants offer additional features and new exterior colour options. The updated Atto 3 lineup includes three variants: Dynamic, Premium, and Superior. Both trim comes with features like seven airbags, a panoramic sunroof, and a 360° holographic imaging system. The Dynamic variant has a 49.92kWh battery, while the Premium variant has a larger 60.48kWh battery. This expansion allows BYD to cater to different customer needs and budgets in the electric vehicle market. Interested buyers can book the Atto 3 with a Rs 50,000 deposit. The new pricing makes the Atto 3 more competitive with the MG ZS EV, which has a similar battery size and range. However, BYD will also face competition from upcoming electric SUVs from Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki.

Features

Both BYD Atto 3 variants offer a premium interior featuring a sunroof, power-adjustable driver's seat, split rear seats, a digital driver display, and a large touchscreen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For safety, both variants get seven airbags as standard, stability control, hill descent assist, tyre pressure monitoring, a 360-degree camera, and child seat anchor points.

The base Dynamic variant provides a simpler experience compared to the Premium trim but lacks features like a power-operated tailgate and ambient interior lighting. Additionally, it comes with a standard sound system with fewer speakers and does not include the advanced headlights and driver assistance technology found in the Premium option.

The key difference between the trims lies in their battery packs and range. The Dynamic trim features a smaller 49.92kWh battery, offering an ARAI-claimed range of 468km. In contrast, the Premium trim comes with a larger 60.48kWh battery, providing a longer range of 521 km. Both trims use the same rear-mounted electric motor, producing 204bhp and 310Nm of torque.

With the fast charger, the battery reaches 80 per cent capacity in just 50 minutes. AC charging times differ, with the smaller battery charging in 8 hours and the larger one in 10 hours. For added convenience, BYD offers a 7 kW home charger and a 3 kW portable charger.
