Bugatti has announced that the 250th order for the Bugatti Chiron has been booked as the company commences deliveries of their latest creation.
Out of the 500 units that are to exist, the Bugatti has received the 250th booking for the new Chiron. In addition, Bugatti is prepared to deliver the first three production cars to customers around the same time as the Geneva Motor Show this year.
The Bugatti Chiron made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show last year as the replacement for the Veyron. Exactly a year later, half of the production cars have already been sold. What is astonishing is that, not even a single owner has been given a chance to drive the car yet. The first test drives are set to begin by the end of March 2017, when Bugatti will invite its customers to a central test drive event.
As revealed by the company, 37% of all sales of the Chiron have been made by customers residing in Europe making it the largest market for the marquee. North America consists of 30% of the sales while 26% of buyers are from the Middle East. The first three finished production cars are set to be shipped to their respective buyers in Europe and the Middle East.
Wolfgang Dürheimer, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., said: “The Chiron got off to a fantastic start with its tremendous world premiere here in Geneva last year. Over the months that followed, we kept our foot on the gas, started series production and are now delivering the first vehicles to our customers.”
Bugatti has confirmed that a total of 70 units of the Chiron will be produced this year. Bugatti specialises in exposed carbon fibre exterior colours and offers the Chiron in Black, Grey, Turquoise, Blue, Green, Brown, and Red.
In addition, Bleu Royal, a colour that will make its debut on the fourth production model, set to be revealed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. This car will be sent to a buyer who Bugatti has revealed is from a “German-speaking region”, who spent a full day in the Atelier in Molsheim working on his car. This customer has opted for a ‘duotone’ interior package which has the leather upholstery finished in two different tones of blue – “Deep Blue” and “French Racing Blue”.
