Isuzu has updated its popular pickup, the D-Max V-Cross, to meet the BS6 norms. The 2021 V-Cross is now available with three different drivetrain setups to cater to a variety of customers.

The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross made its India debut in 2016, and since then, the pickup has received its fair share of updates. Initially introduced with a 2.5-litre diesel engine five years ago, the V-Cross received a smaller but more powerful 1.9-litre engine in 2019. However, the stringent BS6 emission norms, which were implemented in the country in April 2020, made Isuzu pause the sales of its passenger vehicles, as the company had not updated its products to meet the norms.

This time around, Isuzu India has updated the V-Cross and MU-X to meet the emission norms. The Japanese automaker has also introduced a new variant of the pickup truck, dubbed the Hi-Lander, which is positioned in the more affordable price range.

Speaking of the V-Cross, Isuzu has launched the BS6 complaint with a different drivetrain combination. The 'Z' variant of the BS6 V-Cross comes with a 4x2 six-speed automatic transmission setup for an ex-showroom price of Rs 19.98 lakh. Similarly, the ‘Z’ variant with a 4x4 six-speed manual transmission will set you back by Rs 20.98 lakh.

The top of the line ‘Z Prestige’ variant is available with a 4x4 six-speed automatic setup only and has a price tag of Rs 24.49 lakh. All the aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.

Cosmetically, there is no change in the BS6 updated V-Cross, and the feature list is mostly the same as before. Push-button start-and-stop, 8-speaker multimedia, a 7-inch infotainment system with a cruise control system, height-adjustable driver seat, and dual-tone leather seats are some features that are on offer as well. In terms of safety, the V-Cross gets dual-airbags, ABS and EBD, and a reverse parking sensor with a camera.
