The updated BS-VI version of the Hyundai Santro CNG is now available in two variants – Magna and Sportz. Prices start at Rs 5.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) – a increase of over Rs 60,000 since it was first introduced
Hyundai has silently added the pricing of the BS-VI Santro CNG on their official website. Prices start at Rs 5.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the Magna variant. The Santro CNG will also be available in the Sportz trim at Rs 6.20 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). When Hyundai brought the Santro moniker back into the market in October 2018, both these variants were priced at Rs 5.23 lakh and Rs 5.64 lakh respectively.
The powertrain continues to be the same as before – a 1.1-litre four-pot petrol unit that is good for 69 horses and 99Nm. Both variants only come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. In fact, the feature list also continues to be unchanged. Both variants get dual-tone interior with the option of upgrading to sporty black interior with green inserts. Other features in the Magna trim include a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The Sportz variant get the touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both trims come with rear parking sensors, speed sensing auto lock, manual air-conditioner, front and rear power windows, and more. In keeping with the safety norms, CNG variants also come fitted with a fire extinguisher. Surprisingly, the Santro only comes with a driver side airbag in both the Magna and Sportz variants.
The Santro continues to compete against the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and the Tata Tiago. While the former only comes with a CNG option in the lower LXi variants, the latter doesn’t have a CNG option at all.
